Stewart Sheaf Loader at work near Govan
about 1910 to 1920

Two teams of horses, six in all, work in a harvested field with a Stewart sheaf loader, a wooden elevator that lifts sheaves from the ground into a slatted rack wagon. One man stands on the wagon as a sheaf is thrown in, another in a wide-brimmed hat sits driving the loader, and stooks of grain stand in the field around them.
