July 12, 1912, as written on the photograph

A crowd fills Govan's main street as a procession with flags, a banner and a rider on a white horse passes under a decorated arch of branches. Early automobiles and many horse-drawn buggies line the street in front of businesses including a livery and feed stable, a printing office and Latta Bros general merchandise, with spectators on a balcony at the left.
